Hair It is Hair Salon was a group project where we had to take one salon and design two different concepts for it. The first concept takes a unique, eclectic approach to salon design by incorporating elements from many different styles. Its environment is unique due to the balance of nature and industry through the use of raw and commercial materials. The space also exhibits a balance in contrast and texture. The use of earth tones, rich textures, and traditional furniture creates an intimate atmosphere. Color is incorporated through the New Orleans Jazz Festival posters that are dispersed throughout the space. The second design concept is chic and modern. The style is characterized by light neutral hues, a mixture of many different textures, and industrial elements. Colorful accents in the citrus green furniture pieces and brightly colored New Orleans Jazz Festival prints give the space a fun, eclectic feel. The open, linear floor plan of the salon creates a sleek, organized, and spacious atmosphere.
